Bird & Nature Conservation talk & activity, Awareness educational talk to grade 10 students at Basic Education High School, Hlegu by SST Tourism in cooperation with Myanmar Bird & Nature Society(MBNS).

Bird & Nature Conservation talk & activity Awareness educational programs have been conducted for Basic Education Schools since the Society was established in the year 2000. Oriental Bird Club provided the awareness education program small grants to the members in the society. Starting at the schools in Yangon to get the attention of public & officials, programs became successful. UNDP Myanmar offered to widen the scope to their priority areas supporting the small grant to the Society. It was a successful movement around the country and got the authority’s participation within the startup for 3 years.

However, political changes and organizational changes in society itself hinder the active movements.

Recent changes in society reborn the activities in cooperation with international non-government organizations(INGOs). Society is focusing on higher education and research projects.

SST & Responsibility

SST Tourism is on the road to the Responsible Myanmar movement since after Cyclone Nargis in 2008. Ecotourism, Community Based Tourism(CBT), Responsible Sustainable Tourism, Responsible Business, Responsible Investment to Responsible Myanmar initiatives have been done continuously. Myanmar Center for Responsible Business(MCRB) and related organizations are already in.

Empowering local communities in Community Based Tourism(CBT) workshops not only tourism but also sustainability, we share the knowledge of bird & nature conservation. Our SST Tourism team invests continuously in the Bird & Nature Conservation talks & activities whenever the local community invites us. This is the first time in Hlegu township starting at the school as usual to reach a wider audience.

Thanks to Captain Tint San Tun(Htet Thiri GIS), a shareholder of SST Tourism and U Thet Lwin, who always helps us in concern with the Hlegu historical Museum and invite for the precious event, Bird & Nature for the future generation.
